I was born in London, England, and moved to California in 1989.  I've worked over two decades as a professional decorative painter, undertaking a number of prestigious projects from San Francisco to Carmel.  After almost a year on the tiny Greek island of Skopelos I'm now back in the San Francisco Bay Area. 

I have enormous experience in several media, from paints, glazes and washes through to dyes and metal leaf.  I mix many of my own materials and have developed a number of special techniques not in use elsewhere.

I've worked on a vast variety of surfaces in a diverse range of media.  My specialties include luminous colorwashes as well as ultra-realistic marbling and woodgraining, many examples of which can be seen on this website.  I also produce painted floorcloths for use as highly durable art floorcoverings.
