The cabinetry throughout was
given a substantially antiqued appearance by using a complex
overlay of techniques: the surfaces were partly washed and dragged
with very thin color, the moldings partially accented and wiped,
various spatters applied, and all finally finished in two coats of
flat oil varnish. The cabinetry below the central island was
finished with the same techniques over a deep red base. |
